A great political emotion is a scenic proposal inspired by Memory of melancholy, an autobiography by Maria Teresa León, which covers the crucial years of Spain’s recent history, the years spanning the Civil War and exile.
As part of the dancing company, this time I was able to witness the entire creative process and I tried to give a graphic response to the dance piece as a whole.
The dance, its composition, the music, the wardrobe color, the scenography, Jorge Colomer’s lighting and Virginia Rota’s photography provided me with the conceptual and esthetic guidelines that were my starting point to decide how the graphic concept had to breathe, what images to highlight, what font and color to use and how to apply those on each piece to translate the work to a graphic plane.
